Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Education has adopted models for the return of students to the classroom.

It has been announced that the Ministry of Education in Saudi Arabia has decided to use three different operational models for the return to classes in primary schools and kindergartens. These models will be implemented beginning on January 23.

According to a statement released by Saudi Press Agency, the Ministry of Education informed the public that 97 percent of all schools in the Kingdom are classified as falling under the low and medium levels. The models, which are described as low, medium, and high, will be applicable to public, private, and foreign institutions.

The operational models will take into consideration the health precautions and controls that are implemented in kindergartens and primary schools throughout the country, and they will make use of the resources and space that are available in schools.

In low-level schools, there will be a total separation between pupils in the classrooms and labs, however in medium-level schools, the classrooms will be divided into two groups of students. The implementation of distance in the hallways and labs of high-level schools, as well as the division of students into three groups, is necessary.

As part of the models, students are psychologically and socially prepared to return to in-person learning, schools are required to follow approved health regulations, school staff health is monitored, activities both in and out of the classroom are barred if they do not successfully create physical distance, schools and classrooms are equipped with synchronized broadcasting techniques, and teachers are trained to manage simultaneous classrooms.
